Plumber Journeyman An applicant must have at least four years of experience and 576 hours of approved education and pass an exam. This exam will last for 3 hours and includes 100 questions. A plumber in Rhode Island must hold a state license issued by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Division of Workforce Regulation and Safety, Professional Regulations Unit. Having finished an apprenticeship program. No person may install plumbing unless the person holds a credential issued by the department as a licensed master plumber, licensed master plumber restricted, licensed journeyman plumber, licensed journeyman plumber-restricted, registered plumbing apprentice, registered plumbing learner-restricted, registered utility contractor or registered pipe layer. To become a journeyman plumber in Arkansas, you need: Experience of 4 years in the industry.
